Guest Blogger Sidse - Off White Scarf with Flowers

Another beautiful project from Sidse with her Off-White Scarf with Flowers!

Off white scarf with flowers

I crocheted this scarf for my friend Christina's 34th birthday, while visiting a friend in London. It took around 4 nights, and the quality is really really nice.

Pattern from here: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=104&d_id=11&lang=us

I attached some extra flowers on the ends, because I thought it looked funny with a lot of flowers on one side, and no flowers on the others. Next project is to crochet 2 scarves, and then stitch them together down the middle, so it will have flowers on both sides!!!

Guest Blogger Sidse - Rosa Shawl

This week, Sidse shows us her great crochet skills with this beautiful Rosa Shawl!

I made this shawl from squares, using very thin yarn and a very small needle (3,5). It took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Actually, it took me 3½ yrs, and it was the first crocheting work I ever finished!

I have the pattern in Danish, in pdf, and can email it.

It is really beautiful and warm – but I am not really sure it is worth all the work! I also did one in thicker, black yarn (needle 5). Then I went out for drinks, and lost it somewhere.

Damn it!

Guest Blogger Sidse - Rosa/lilac slippers with gold

This week, Sidse share's a cute birthday present for her grandma! :)

Rose/Lilac slippers with gold

I made these slippers for my grandmother birthday from this pattern (in American – yay!): http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=113&d_id=32&lang=us

It only took one evening to crochet both of them – but I just keep wondering, why they are stitched together on the top side, and not on the sole or on the side? It just doesn’t look so nice. Anyway – they are totally comfortable and warm – and a bit funny looking, in a nice late 70’ish way I think :-)

Guest Blogger Sidse - Black Poncho

Up Next... Black Poncho! (Personally, I LOVE this one! )

I made this poncho from this pattern: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=109&d_id=46&lang=us

Changing the yarn into Eskimo, and using needle 7, crocheting 3 or 4 rows less than the pattern describes. (I measured it). I also crocheted the collar, as I cannot knit.

It is lovely and warm – but the pattern sort of doesn’t really work out I think. It looks way to messy.

Guest Blogger Sidse - Rosa Scarf with Bubbles

I met the lovely Sidse (who is from Denmark) while she was vacationing here in the US!

We thought it'd be fun if she could guest-blog since she is an avid crocheter and it would be great to get something other than knitting in this joint!

So... Without further ado...

Rosa Scarf with Bubbles

I crochetted this scarf for my friend Eva on a trip to Berlin with my mum, using this pattern http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/dk/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=93&d_id=33&lang=dk

(not available in English)

Unfortunately, my mum, the oracle of knitting, talked me into making it slightly longer (with 3 extra rows of bubbles), and it just didn’t get as nice as on the pic. I also left out a fury thread, which also contributed to the scarf not looking exactly as the picture.

Lessons learned: Respect the pattern!
