Purl Bee Laura's Loop: Infant Mittens

And, these are done...

I worked on these while up in the bay area last week, hoping to get them done in time to give them to a good friend of ours who is due on January 14th with her baby boy!

Our Peanut was born on January 14th!  YAY!

I remember when El Hub and I first brough him home, we thought we were freezing him out!

Our house is ALL tile and it gets pretty cold in here, especially at night...

and especially when you have a hubby that does not like to spend money turn on the heater!

Pre-baby, he used to tell me to put a jacket on... Inside the house!

Then, we brought our little man home and all of that changed!

El Hub would crank the heat so that our little Peanut could be warm
and I'd be sweating and wearing shorts and a tank!  :)

We used to feel Peanut's little hands and feet and they seemed so cold to us!

I used to swaddle him and he'd pop himself right out of there!

(at 23 months, he still does not like to wear socks... or shoes for that matter... or pants for that matter...)

:0)

It's cute to see how much the baby brought out El Hub's softer side... (though, he still complained about turning the heater on).

:)

Anyway!!!

These are the Purl Bee Laura's Loop Infant Mittens!

I used the Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in the white (101 Fresh Cream), light blue (032 Sky) and a pretty dark teal (59 Mallard) color (which the ladies at the yarn shop thought was weird for a boy... but I thought it was modern.)

:)

This is Navy, Sky and Cream... From my next project.

These really did work soooooooo incredibly fast!

I started a pair in the car on the drive up.

They start with # 2 double pointeds for the first 13 rows (while doing K1, P1) and
then switch to # 3 pointeds while knitting each round.

I worked on these at the hotel and it was such a nice break from my sock-o-rama!!!

They work so fast, I made one pair on a rainy afternoon!

I-Cord always works fast and if you don't remember how (as I didn't!), there's a nice
I-Cord written tutorial on the Purl Bee site and there's this great YouTube video from TheEastSideKnitter!

After being up north all week, I never did get to meet up with my friend so I've popped these in the mail to her so she can have them for her little man's teeny hands.
