Berroco Bayu Pattern (from Booklet # 271)

So this is my current project...
I know... I know...

I'm sooooo close to finishing the Twinkle Hoodie but since we are in between residences and this is much easier to carry around than the bulky hoodie project, this has become my focus.

Plus, I think it's really cute and I really wanna wear it!

So this is from the Berroco booklet # 271 which consists of patterns for their Bonsai yarn.
I've decided to use the Lion Microspun in Mocha (my new favorite color in the whole wide world!).

I have to admit I picked this yarn, not for gauge closeness or weight closeness, but because I love this color!

There are Lion yarns that are comparable to the Berroco Bonsai of 1.75 oz. and 50g (Lion Cupcake, Lion Organic Cotton).

If I were to make this again, I'd definitely make it with the Lion Cupcake.

In the meantime, I've adjusted my gauge and am hoping this will come out fairly close to the correct measurements!

So far, so easy. Started a border with seed stitch (or Moss stitch) and now am just working up the Stockinette stitch.

Twinkle Big City Knits - Twinkle Hoodie

Well... Back to the Twinkle Hoodie.

I think I've burned myself out on the hats and scarves so much that I'm actually really into the Hoodie now!

I think also it helps that I'm actually headed towards the end!

I just need to sew the sleeves together and the hood. Then just need to add the border, and then just add buttons! Yay!

This is coming out really cute and I do kinda sorta wish I'd added the pockets like the pattern calls for but I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't be too hard to still do anyway? I dunno...

I also still think that I don't need more attention drawn to my tummy with things like pockets. ;-)

YARN: Lion Babysoft in Bubble Gum (one skein total)

NEEDLES: size 6 reg (even tho it calls for size 5! even smaller!)

Lion Tied Hoodie

Well... what can I say...

First off... I'm making this for my nemesis... A baby. (oh I'm kidding... come on, people).

I'm almost done (Thank God). It's coming along nicely. I finished that sleeve (that you see undone below).

Now I just need to finish the hood and attach it. Then put on the buttons!

Alls I can say is, this kid better like and wear this sweater! (Again, people... kidding... It's a baby... I know...)

Observe: pills... as this sweater has driven me to start taking...

Good God! What a mess!

Arg... :(

Lion Tied Hoodie

Well... It's getting there... It seems once I reached the 4 1/2 inch mark, it started to go quickly...

That there is the right side of the sweater, with two teeny button holes that you can't see... yet!

I never thought I'd hear myself say this but... I can't wait to get back to my Twinkle books!

Lion Tied Hoodie

Yawn...

Oh geez...

I've been working on this for what seems like forever and it's now only at 2.75 inches...

And I gotta get to 4.5 in before I can divide!

Ugh...

Teeny yarn and tiny needles = sloooooow project

YARN: Lion Babysoft in Bubble Gum (one skein so far...)

NEEDLES: size 6 reg (even tho it calls for size 5! even smaller!)

ETC: holders and markers (if I ever get to that part...)

My God... what has Twinkle done to me!

Lion Tied Hoodie

Ok...

Again, I've decided to put off the Twinkle Hoodie and work on/start this Tied Hoodie.

It seems easy enough and should hopefully work fast since A's baby is due in exactly one month!

It does call for size 5 needles and I think my size 5's are in storage so I'm using size 6's...

I'm so used to working chunky yarn and BIG needles with all the Twinkle patterns that just casting on and working 3 rows in this teeny tiny yarn with these teeny tiny needles has been slow moving!

Will post pics when there's something more exciting to show than just 3 rows of Garter stitch...

Yarn: Lion Baby Soft in Bubble Gum

Needles: Size 6

Etc: Markers & Stitch Holders

Twinkle Hoodie

Blah blah, blah blah...

I dunno why I'm having such a hard time getting into this one...

Esp since this one is fairly easy!

I think I'm a bit intimidated by the pockets.

The sleeves have been easy. And the rib (k2, p2) on the body is easy... Hopefully the rest will be too...

And I checked out the errata and it's definitely got some errors in the pattern. Ugh...
I wonder if I can leave the pockets off...

They are cute, tho.

Arg... :-/

Yarn: Lion Wool-Ease Thick 'n Quick in Fisherman (2 strands held together)

Needles: Size 17 and 19 - 24"

Etc: Marker, tape measure
