Color Affection by Veera Välimäki

YAY!!!

It's done and I LOVE it!!!

Like all the 5200 other people on Ravelry, I wanted my very own Color Affection wrap too!!!

I ended up using the MadelineTosh Tosh Sock (100% superwash merino wool - fingering weight).

(and worked this on size 6 needles - 32" long)

I didn't bother making a gauge as the pattern says it's not really all that important... and since I'm usually too impatient to make a gauge, why do it, if I don't have to!

From left to right: Mica (grey), Candlewick (yellow) and Scarlet

This yarn is GORGEOUS and it work so well...

I can see why it's so popular right now.  I've been seeing it everywhere!

It's easy in the fingers and it doesn't unravel. I had no issues with it and there were no knots in any of the skeins at all!

This pattern is soooooooo easy and a lot of fun!

Pick three colors.

Start with the first color, then add your second color, then add your third color, and then end with your third color!

Here's my first part:

My second part (having added my second color):

Adding my third color!

And that's it!

A pattern that looks complicated, but is actually super easy!
(photo in shade)

(and in sun...)

I have not blocked this yet, but I will... I was just so excited that it was done!

And this is how much yarn I had LEFT OVER!

I can make some socks outta that!  :)

I had read a lot on Ravelry about ravelers comments regarding the increases and how they were tight.  A lot of people did their own increases rather than follow the pattern.

I didn't have an issue with the increases according to pattern BUT I am also a loose knitter.  If you're a tight knitter, you might want to consider a different increase.

Other than that, this pattern is super simple and super fun!

Keep in mind that this pattern works from Top - Down!

So don't start with the third color (like I accidentally did!)   :)

Peanut does not seem to care about my new Color Affection wrap, like I do...

Debbie Bliss Pleated Wrap

Pattern: Debbie Bliss Spring/Summer '09 Pleated Wrap
Yarn: Caron Spa Bamboo Yarn (3 skeins)
Needles: size 4

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's done!!!

Oh happy day!

Seriously... I can't even tell you. I thought I'd never finish this one.

Even my hubby was like, "Are you still working on that thing!?"

It's not even that it's hard pattern. It's actually really easy!

It just doesn't move fast.

I had a mini power-knitting session this week and after knitting my butt off,
it'd only grown like 3 inches!

I was like, are you freakin' kidding me?

I almost died.

It came out beautifully, tho...
and sis-n-law is very happy with it (which is ALL that matters). ;-)

I have to admit, I didn't get to 71 inches, like the pattern called for.

I cast off at about 63 inches. Not too short, but still. I didn't make it to 71".

Oh well... on to the next project.

Bummer is, I wouldn't mind making one of these for myself 'cause it is really pretty!

But I don't wanna spend 100 years on it!

I think Twinkle has spoiled me.

Big needles + chunky yarn = fast projects!

Debbie Bliss Pleated Wrap

OMG... it's never gonna end...

I really have been knitting! Really! I promise!

Been working on this now since, oh let's see... June!

Oh geez... Seriously? Only at 37 inches?

Only 34 inches more to go!

x-(

It is quite pretty, tho...

This is for my sis-in-law's birthday, which was July 24th...

Maybe it'll be a Christmas present!

Still here... still knittin...

Yup... Still here...

Just been busy these days...

and without laptop!

Fortunately, hubby fixed the 'old dog' for me and now I'm up and running!

Am still learning some stuff on here as, hubby took off the Windows O/S and put on the Ubuntu!

I'm tellin' you this 'cause I haven't figured out yet how to 'edit' pics on here like I had been before...

Gimme some time tho and I'll figure it out. ;-)

Meanwhile, thank God for guest blogger Sidse cause she is on top of it and she does beautiful work!

I really am actually working on a project (which I'll post pics on tomorrow).

These days, I'm making the Debbie Bliss Pleated Wrap for my sis-in-law's birthday, which was actually about 2 weeks ago!

I gave her a sneak-peak and she was happy! Which makes me happy...

It's probably a bit more practical than last year's b-day gift.

Lion Hooded Baby Wrap

YAY!!! I finished the Hooded Baby Wrap!

It came out really cute and this was super easy to make! I like the little detail on the edge all around (from K2, yo, k the rest). It gives it a cute little edge!

I'm glad lil Emma will be able to get some use outta this before she gets too big (considering I started this in April! :+)

Lion Hooded Baby Wrap

Well... It's back to the Lion Hooded Baby Wrap...

I am just about half way done which is great considering the baby is already like a month or two old!

I'd like her to get some use outta this! :)

Lion Hooded Baby Wrap

Well...

After finishing the Lion Hoodie, I was gonna go back to the Twinkle Hoodie, just to finish and be done with it (and cause Hubby is getting sick of seeing that big bag-o-yarn sitting in the closet)...

But it was like a thousand degrees out and I just couldn't bring myself to keep working on a double-yarn chunky thick sweater!

And since I have a TON of this Lion Baby Soft in Bubble Gum, I thought I'd start another project for the new baby in the family!

This is working fairly easy so far. A good beginner's project for learning increasing and decreasing!

And the nice thing is, it only requires a pair of size 9 needles and a yarn needle for sewing the hood to the body! :)

Here's how far I am... This is at about 10 in. I need to get to 20 in before beginning to decrease.
